Study abroad in Merida
In Merida, your Spanish language immersion will take you in the middle of the entire Mayan civilization. Study abroad northwest of Yucatan to discover an exotic and colourful folklore.
Merida is Yucatan's capital. Enjoyed by the tourists, it is renowned for its cleanliness and its safe streets. The white city offers everything for everyone: history, culture, wilderness, sports and an easily accessible beach. Merida is also a real Mexican colonial city where you can feel the country’s soul. The lessons
The Spanish lessons take place in small groups of 10 students and put the emphasis on theory. They are given in the mornings, from Monday to Friday, and amount to 2 hours per day. That way, students can focus on studying before noon and have fun the remainder of the day. They can participate in different activities and outings organized for them. Activities are always supervised by a Spanish speaking guide. Throughout the day, the students will then be able to practice in real-life situations the teachings learned during the morning classes.
The program
Upon arrival, at the Merida airport, the students will be welcomed by their guide and host families. The families will take them to their homes and back to the airport at the end of their stay.
It is preferable that the field trip organizer form the groups in order to have everyone in it on the same proficiency level. The organizer can make suggestions on the content of the course to be given by the Mexican teacher.
Your guide will also be responsible for host families. He will be the on-site answer person for every questions and requests.
