Santander is the capital of this historic and self relaying region of Cantabria, in the north of Spain. This picturesque town is situated along a cliff which overlooks one of the most beautiful bays in the world. The palace La Magdalena is the town’s glory for in the summer of 1931, the Royal Family vacationed there. With its 180 000 habitants, this is one of Europe’s most appealing cities. Here, the Spanish language and the customs have kept their authenticity, in far contrast of the Basques countries in the EST.
Santander is one of the rare locations throughout the world where you can surf in the morning and ski in the afternoon. The climate is more moderate than the other regions of the country, the outdoor activities and sightseeing outings are an absolute must for visitors. Santander offers an intense cultural experience with its numerous concerts, operas, theatres and art galleries. In the summer, they are host to what is considered one of Europe’s best international music and dance festival.
One of Santander’s unique attributes is the quality of its restaurants and tapa bars where you can try the wonderful Spanish specialties for a very little amount. After a great meal, enjoy the night life with the bars and the dance clubs as you walk through the streets.
The school with whom we collaborate with is located on the main pedestrian street, close to the water in the center of town. It consists of 8 well lit classrooms, a student lounge and a modern computer room which has free internet access for students as well as WIFI. The school has been nominated as the best language school in the region since it was founded in 1978 and it is a proud member of the EAQUALS (The European Association for Quality Language Services).
