Homestay manners:
- Respect the timetable that the family has set for meals.
- Try to keep the host family informed if and when you plan to travel or go on an excursion (in that case the family can prepare some food for your trip). You should also let them know in advance if you do not plan on having ameal at home on any given day.
- You should always ask for permission before using the telephone. For international calls, we recommend for you to purchase an international phone card.
- Ask the family when would be a good time to receive phone calls.
- Ask for permission to bring home friends.
- Try to help at home as much as possible.
- Keep your room tidy, be careful with borrowed items and return them in the way you found them.
- Turn off the lights when you leave a room.
- Use of the laundry facilities once a week is included. If you would like to iron your clothes, ask the family for an iron.
If at any time you find yourself in very difficult situation, you can ask the school to change your housing situation.
