Come learn Spanish in the heart of Tuscany where Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Dante lived!
Through the sinuous streets of this hospitable town, you discover several palaces and some of Italy’s largest churches such as the Santa Maria del Fiore. The majority of the attractions are grouped which makes them easy to visit on foot. Actually, vehicles are not permitted in the historic center of Florence, given you even more reason to sit and enjoy a meal on a patio.
The Ponte Vecchio relays Florence’s historic center, on the north shore, to the south shore and its quieter districts. On the bridge, small buildings with several stories with jewellery shops, making this a bridge quite spectacular.
Above one of the two rows of shops, is the Vasari Corrador which permitted de Médicis, a powerful family of bankers, to move between thePalazzo Vecchio and the Pitti Palace without having to encounter the `dangers on the street. Now this intimidating Palazzo Pitti conceals collections of works of arts.
Museums
In Florence you can study the history of art, for the museums display works of art from legendary local artists such as Boticelli, Michelangelo, Raphaël and Da Vinci. The Galleria Degli Uffizi (the gallery of Offices) protects the Birth of Venus and the Springtime of Botticelli, as well as the Urbino Venus of Titian. The Galleria Dell’Accademia covens’ famous statues of Michelangelo, as the very famous David. The several churches equally have admirable paintings and tablets.
Our Italian school in Florence
During your study abroad experience, you will learn Italian in a historic building with a view on the Duomo of Florence; the school occupies a three story building in the heart of town. The students will be able to visit most of the major attractions within a few minutes by foot. The school’s 18 classrooms are luminous and spacious; there is also a multimedia room, free internet access and a coffee room for students.
